Saturday is a special day.
it's the day you get a parotid gland infection.
You go to the ER and you get a cat scan.
It's the day you find out you're allergic to iodine contrast.
You get some Benadryl and some other meds
And you sleep until you are not itchy.
Then you go back to home and you take your antiobiotics
And your weekend is messed up until Monday.
The ER doc said he was giving me antibiotics for the "acute sialadenitis" but he thought I might have the mumps (because of the pain, where it hurts, when it hurts, and the swelling in the neck and ear - but he took my blood and said nothing about the titer or anything - or just that he still thought I had that), even though I've been vaccinated, TWICE (80% effective), so I shouldn't be around kids.
Can I get a prescription for that?
Please.

Holy Cow! Jacob had a parotid (I don't know if I spelled that right) gland infection - got it on a Sunday ... and had IV antibiotics for like a week or 2 after.
When did this happen??? I hope our long phone call did not contribute - and sorry for the abrupt ending. My cell phone died.

When I was talking to you, Elizabeth, I thought that I had slept wrong or clenched my jaw because it was tight, it wasn't until about an hour later when I looked in the mirror and looked like the elephant woman that I was like, "WHAT!?!"

oh man that sucks! Why is everyone sick right now? I know so many people who have "something" even me and the kids have sore throats and sniffles. I hope you feel better in no time! Take care.
