Well, this birthday was most un-birthdayish. Not from lack of trying, just, sometimes, that's how the cards fall.
The day was nothing special until Larry came home from work. I ran to Costco, before dinner and Ben's Eagle Board of Review. While I was at Costco I got a phone call from Larry saying that he was running Joseph up to the ER because he had closed his pocket knife on his finger. (Joseph got his whittling chip card at Cub Scout day camp two days earlier - that means he knows how to safely use a pocket knife. The cut of the finger means the bishop or cub master has to tear off a corner. Four corners and you're out, technically.)
So, I went to the Board of Review, TOTALLY CLUELESS, and Larry dealt with the ER.
I really like Sacred Heart Children's ER. They do good work there. It's worth the extra 15 minute drive, in my opinion.
Just two stitches, but cut to the bone. Awesome! Not awesome - no lake swimming and no more swimming lessons! Bummer for my fish, Joseph!
Meanwhile, at the church:
The Board of Review people - Larry Lawton, Phil Sokolowski, Alan Jones, Ray Welsh, Ben, Duncan Latitnen (sp) and a very nice scouter man.
He passed!
On Saturday night (July 11th) we celebrated my birthday:
Yay! New water bottles! What I really want (a Janome or Necchi or Pfaff, a Canon SLR, and my house to sell) I can't afford and I have everything I need.
I have what money cannot buy and do not lack.
Besides needing to clear the camera lens, I love my little people.

"24th"!! :)
Well happy birthday. We had fun. I guess we owe Joseph more. It looks like he had an IV running. Is that correct?
I do remember when I was in my middle 40's.
Love you.
Dad
Oh, just wanted to add about late birthday events. Your mother and I just returned from her birthday dinner. Joe's Crab Shack. It helps to have a gift cert. from her work to pay the bill!!!
Again happy birthday.
Love you
Dad
Sorry I missed it! Sounds like it was an adventure :)
You are amazing and if you ask me have the energy of a 24 year old, much cuter than a 24 year old, wiser than a 42 year old and I hope next year is the birthday of your dreams. Thanks for the comment about choosing to have faith and we have you in our prayers. Your next month might be crazier than your birthday!
I think you guys have been to the ER more than your fair share, even with 6 kids! Hope Joseph's finger heals well. Happy belated birthday to you, Tif-- you never cease to amaze and inspire me:)
lol tif happy birthday! now you're the same age as me:)...

Happy, happy birthday, friend! Your line about Rachel recording, um, comforting your son will have my laughing for days. :-)
